The music is what provides comforts to the souls. Music injects sugary and saccharine pleasures when someone stays with it. Music does not know the boundaries so it transcends in every corner of the world looting the hearts and generating more fan-ship and liking for it.

Music erases the sorrows, grieves and tensions from the life. While it plays, it spells magic with the listeners intoxicating the whole ambience with the soft rhythm and heart-warming beats. It creates its own imaginary world where the listener stays on with the spongy composition, squishy orchestra laced with the mesmerizing playing of the flute, the rhythmic taals of tabla, the malleable tanpura, the soul-arousing strings of the guitar, the catchy cum breath-arresting voice of the vocalist and the mellifluous arrangement of the rest of the instruments.

In a capsule, music speaks by itself, which is why the renowned litterateur and story-teller of Urdu Literature of yesteryears Munshi Prem Chand had rightly said about it quoting it, ‘Music is the speech of angels’. Sensing the impact of the music on the listeners, the famed American singer Monica dolls up her vocal chords luminously in a manner where they simply intoxicate her aficionados.

Her second music album, ‘The Boy is Mine’ hit the music stands way back in year 1998 on July 14th all over the United States. It proved to be a major hit churning out mammoth sales in the USA.

‘The Boy is Mine’ got released by Arista Records in 1998 featurning production from Jermaine Dupri, Dallas Austin, Rodney Jerkins among others and also carries the guest appearances from Brandy,
hip-hop duo Outkast and R&B quartet 112. The soundtrack churns out five singles including the hit tracks like ‘The Boy is Mine’ (title song), ‘The First Night’ and ‘Angel of Mine’.
The music album shoved itself at the position of number eight on the Billboard 200 chart in August 1998. The classy singer Monica bagged three Grammy Award nominations for the Best R&B Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group, the Best R&B Song and Record of the Year. The soundtrack got certified triple platinum by the RIAA on June 21st 2000.

‘Miss Thang’ was Monica’s first music album that too chewed up good sales at the stands and it was that album, which boosted up her energies to release the second album. Where ‘The Boy is Mine’ topped the US charts and stayed on in the list of top ten for long, it also got its position in the list of top ten songs of France, Canada and Switzerland. In Asian countries, it proved to be a hit sensation. Still it is heard with that oomph, it used to be done decade back because music never gets old.
